Qantas Travel Money changing to Qantas Pay - May 2024

I was unable to get a new card using the new QPay app - and my account disappeared from the old app - but I managed to do it on the website.

Seems like changes have happened

Got this email this morning

Are the earn rates for spending in Qantas the same as before ?

Is anyone able to answer this question?

Also does using this card attract the 1% or whatever fee that QF charges for normal mastercards?

The point structure appears to be:
1 point per $1 loaded in foreign currency (used to be no points for this)
1 point per $1 spent 'Outside Australia' (used to be 1.25 points per $1 spent)

Any credit card fee would be at the discretion of the store you use the card at.

Looks like immediate funds transfer from a debit mastercard or debit visa card, to QPay, is now no longer available.
So all funds transfer now takes 1/2 days.

Website has this banner so I imagine it's only temporary

Debit load is currently unavailable. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Someone on here mentioned they are/were doing something on it.
But I see more of a "dour" moment, think they might be looking into getting rid of the load facility from debit mastercard/debit visa card.
I can see it from their pov tho, the direct load is too easy for scammers, ie, if the scammer knows the card number, exp date, cvc code, and somehow could get into a persons account, they could suck a lot of $ of someone debit card account.
Its so easy for someone to use a card reader, ie, a copier placed on/at a vending machine.

For a while, I did buy drinks over the past summer from cca vending machines, then I suddenly got pinged (card fraud), for uber eats (they succeeded on this one), also , door dash with a zero amount, mcdonalds, ...
Meaning, the copier must have got my 16 digit card #, exp date and also cvc.

I do like the debit load tho, very fast.

I have been loading every week (big holiday in a couple of weeks time) and I am finding that if I transfer first thing in the morning, the funds are there by mid afternoon, I am ok with that.
Love that Wise card has PayID for instant transfer.
Taking both cards on the trip.

I, too, have been frustrated with the lack of debit transfer lately. Means I need to be a little more organized as I have some regular direct debit coming out of this card.
I was told by support recently that you don't actually need to jump through the hoops of registering the load first through the qantas pay app, but that you can just do a direct bank transfer to your static bsb/acc at any time. Have been a bit hesitant to do this on the regular, but would love to hear if others are doing that without issue?

On a different topic, a qantas survey I received yesterday floated a bunch of feature enhancements (mainly in the rewards space, not so much functionality). Will be interesting to see how much attention this product gets over the coming months.

I've been making direct bank transfers over the past few weeks to pay odds and ends, to get entries into the Trip to Rome competition. As mentioned by @Bindibuys they go through very quickly.

Have done it with the(ir) new BSB, and account #, (since the card is no longer linked to Heritage, so the 016*** BSB works for me).
As others and you have mentioned, its ok, if you have a day and a bit, as the BSB and account # funds transfer system takes time.
Have to wait and see if the immediate funds transfer from any debit card system with them will come back.
As from yesterday, its still not available, and bpay or BSB and account # transfer system is the only way to reload onto QP.
