Yes we did see many of these. I just love it when they list 15/20/25 as the default percentages for tipping. You do have to navigate the terminal to find the 'No tip' or 'Custom tip' options, making it even more difficult to avoid tipping.

Lots of places creating the expectation of tipping that would not have done so previously. Very disconcerting!

That’s because of the way wages are calculated in the USA and how EXPECTED tips REDUCE what the employer is required to pay

QP formerly QTMC has never worked on my Googlepay on Galaxy S21.
I have tried several times, and the pop up keeps saying, this card is not available, and is greyed out, on Googlepay/Samsung pay also not available, most likely it cant be done for tapandgo on phone, but lucky the red (in my case) card is still valid on tapandgo instore, just not online for using the phone to tapandgo..
But when I go to KFC, and use the standalone kiosk to preorder, (here in Aus), it works.
I think it was mentioned on here, that due to the fact that QP/QTMC is not a visa/mastercard debit/credit, somewhere in the Googlepay system, it wont accept QP/QTMC.

From my understanding both the current and new cards are effectively Debit Mastercards. Last time I looked they were supplied by Heritage Bank (under an agreement with Qantas), but they (Heritage) simply choose not to support GooglePay or anything similar. Tis' a pity!

My QP or at the moment still QTMC has got a long way to go yet, can't believe that while other banks issue cards for 4 years, mine was issued in 2020, when I dropped back to NB with the red coloured QTMC, and with an exp of 2027.

My choice would be to pay the bill as presented and have a few $US in notes to hand to the server. Not sure if this may result in a back lash, but I shall see on my up coming US visit

Well this is going to get confusing. The QF Pay card looks almost exactly like the P1 FF card.
Are they actually sending these white cards out to anyone ?

tbh that giant "QANTAS PAY" text is quite ugly. I can sorta see what they were going for with that and the giant roo (with no padding), but I really don't like it. Certainly doesn't fit with the rest of Qantas' corporate design IMO.

I know the FX rates were bad, but even with the bonus points offer I'm barely breaking even by my calculations, especially when you factor a QF point earning 0%FX card. This being a debit not a CC is more accessible to most, but even so, I think I'd still recommend a 0% debit card over this.

I was thinking the same thing. Is the font different to the "standard" Qantas font? Or is it just that it's so huge that it's throwing me off?

I think it's the new Söhne font which they've been rolling out, replacing the current Ciutadella. So far I've only seen it as body text on documents etc., not really as a logo as it's used here.

To add to this, just noticed in the QF Money App (which had an update) at the top a section for QANTAS Pay balance(with last 4 digits), and it says

"Received your replacement card? Activate it now"

Which implies to me that they are sending at least some out. Maybe to status members, or more likely to those who have previously/currently use QF Money. I have not, but QF seem to think I have perhaps.

I don't want it. I much rather get a new P1 card since my last one is from 2019...

Oh well if it shows I shall cut it up.

I loaded up my a few weeks ago to try and trigger a replacement card (the online card request doesn’t work now). At the time I could see my QF money card had also expired.

A few days later came the announcement of the new type of card…

As soon as I requested a new card, the last four digit of the replacement card changed in app. I might end up with two but should be able work out which is the latest before cancelling it (after I get my $50 back).

Ordered one of the new cards on the 21st. Arrived Friday 24th.
Looks almost identical to the promotional material posted above. Has the word 'prepaid' on the reverse, next to the expiry date.

Attempt to add it to Google wallet predictably failed.

Google wallet also did not accept it on my phone.
This is with the QTMC as mine is still the old one, still has a while to go for me.
Somehow, for some reason, Google wallet will not accept the QTMC/QP.
But it happily accepts my visa debit for cardless tap and go, ie, with another provider, not QTMC.
So, maybe its the interface.

As explained above, Heritage Bank has to go through Apple/Google to get their card to be allowed on the phone. They have not, so the card will not add without an agreement between phone company and bank.
