I think everyone has totally missed the point. These new bins are designed to fit people in them. Project amber was originally known as project Soylent.

You heard it here first on AFF.

Interesting and thanks for the link to FT. I actually dont like the look of those bins. It will be interesting to see it in practice (although I rarely fly 737s) - currently my (soon to be retired) rollaboard fits in the 737 bins on its side end on into teh bin - quite perfectly - something that doesn't happen on the 763s. I wonder if the same will apply.

The bins are meant to be larger than the original 737 bins...
Dom Fortey.. well done on finding this thread, I searched for it and ended up putting the FT link somewhere else.

No worries guys,

Interesting that they are going for a hard cabin divider like VA, Still not sure I like it. Another interesting point that they didn't upgrade the J seats to the new ones like the BSI's. Will wait and see the results of this trial.

Dom,

I think the divider is fine (I hardly fly dom J though). At least the FA doesn't have to open/shut/open the curtains anymore.

The 763s really need new bins however...the SYD-MEL-SYD 763 services are really becoming mad bus trips with people bringing on everything more often.

How many BSI's are there in service now? In all my PER-KTA trips I was only on my second one yesterday.

Typing this from 4C on VXC, got to say the bins are so so, not very impressive.
