Qantas to release thousands of Classic Reward seats in Y, PE, J, F on 24 Feb 2023 around 11am

Got Jan 24 $ Flight to Haneda & Classic rewards back in Feb24. Can't use Credit pass as you can't split payments which include a Classic Rewards ticket. :( Still got the flights I wanted.
 
I was able to book J from SIN to MEL for two fairly easily for Jun 2024. As well as KLM J from DPS-SIN in early Jun 2024.
 
SYD-HND had bucketloads of J availability showing in the multi-city tool when I looked late last week - likely due to the daily double frequency increase.

Booked MIL on QF26 mid March, QF25 mid April, J in both directions, $200 taxes each way including JL domestic leg within Japan.

Possibly yes, although award availability out of TYO to Europe and USA tends to be pretty good, so the space should get snapped up on that.

In my case, MIL is flying ex TYO and the fares were $4.7k direct. Roughly coincides with spring school holidays in Japan.

Given ANA is offering $2700 return SYD-TYO in business class… maybe demand is low overall?

That's surprising and very cheap - I'd imagine that after the border closures caused by COVID, Japan is one of the most visited countries in the world and it would do ANA no favours to offer business fares for that cheap.

They could even offer said fares for $6k return and it would still be snapped up no doubt.

Certainly seems that way for a lot of Australians, considering the JPY is one of the very few currencies that the AUD is strong against.
 
ANA struggles to fill the J cabin on SYD-HND-SYD outside of peak season for whatever reason.

There's been award availability (usually between 2 and 4 seats) on pretty much every single flight in both directions for the past few months.
 
Can see some relatively peak season HND flights. I find this very interesting to see. Not even discount tickets but a CR.Screenshot_20230925-181102.png

Available to book for a little over 72 hours only. In economy only. Excluding a fair chunk of our network. For travel in a five-month period only. But less than a five-month period for another chunk of our network. Do you forgive us now?'

Umm what, who would pay 6k to fly 9 hours direct flight? No point.

I see your point and don't even disagree, but for me - someone who loves to travel to Japan every year, this is a pretty big win, you can never get these seats as reward during the snow sports peak dates. I just wish they started 1 week sooner in late January, but oh well.
 
I don't think this is the only points release that will happen.

We'll probably see more dedicated releases almost like sales.

Honestly this is a direct insult to our intellect as if we'd forget everything simply because you offered us some economy reward seats during a period that's considered down time for them anyways
