The must-know info:
* opens early March 2017 (along with new domestic J lounge)
* drop-off and valet parking, checkin, baggage drop, security and escalator up to the Qantas lounges
* open seven days a week, from one hour prior to departure of first QF flight
* access for business class,QFF Platinum and Gold (and Oneworld equivalents) and Qantas Club members

And here's a pretty picture...

That foyer is as big as the entire Hobart lounge! Wonder how they'd go with about 60 people in it?

Flying across the pond middle of March on the new (finally returning) BNE-CHC-BNE flights. Hopefully it'll be open and we'll be able to try it out. On reflection is this just referring to Dom lounge?

Yes it's domestic

In the domestic J Lounge at the moment and staff have advised that construction is on track to be opened as advised in March.
They have handled the interim arrangements pretty well in my opinion. Looking forward to the new check-in and lounge.

Looks quite nice and the availability for pretty much all tiers that have lounge access (including QP members) seems to one-up VA quite nicely. As do operating hours.

I have a trip to Sydney for the opera in late-March that I am yet to book. I think I just chose Brisbane over the Gold Coast.

Looks like I'll just miss out on visiting the new lounge by a few weeks. Oh well, I hope the old J lounge is open for one last visit.

Great that you can check bags in - that is the massive issue with VA's. Wonder if they will quickly try to match the QF offering?
