Great! But.....

The new Brisbane-Port Macquarie flights are contingent on an opening of State borders.

Lovely.... So unless there is an AFL team in Port Mac that Anna and Dr Young can shuttle back and forth and grant special exemptions for these flights..... they won’t be happening.

...and barely a day after VA withdrew from PQQ!

Yes, announcing this now but making it contingent on state borders reopening does seem like a political play.

I think QF already operates the other routes that VA has withdrawn from?

Keep piling the pressure on the QLD government to explain themselves, if Bain/VA2 weren’t so busy trying to rinse the QLD government of $200m I’m sure they would be advocating big time as well!

So I wonder where the Q400 will come from?

I wonder if the same aircraft will fly SYD-PQQ-BNE (with a change of flight number in PQQ)? If so, could be a way for Points Club members to earn some extra SCs when booking an award from Sydney to Brisbane. ;)

My first flight to be cancelled before lock down was PPQ-BNE on Allliance.
I once flew SYD-PPQ-CFS-BNE on Qantaslink and Brindabella Airlines, I think it was about 8,000 points, and did the other way BNE-NTL-SYD on QF and Fly Pelican another 8,000 points.
Fly Corporate (I mean Airlink) would have liked BNE-PPQ

It’s also a way to rotate aircraft around the network for maintenance which is why VA launched BNE-PQQ in the first place.

Not the first on Q400?
Wasn’t that CNS to POM?
