I will be flying on QF 75 and 76 for their seasonal SYD - YVR flights. I saw recently that Qantas have refurbished all 9 out of 11 of their 747s. Wondering if anyone knows which of their 747s they use for these flights. Hoping for one of the refurbs

I believe they mostly use their newer, refurbished 747s on this route. Though this is never 100% guaranteed.

Thanks Matty, this is what i thought and hope for but as you say can't be sure, guess ill just cross my fingers and hope

If you have booked the flight just have a look at the seat plan for your aircraft.

Seat guru calls the non-refurbished 747 "4 class" referring to the old first class which is now defunct except the seats are still there.

Refurbished 747 are the only 747 with rows 5-8

Some travelers are thinking the other direction. They want to fly in the non refurbished 747 J seats so as to use the old first class seats. (you may need to chose the front seats and or have some status. Maybe these seats not as slick as the refurbished version, but a little bit of nostalgia while the big girls are still flying.
