Qantas Sydney International Business Lounge

Some pics on FB courtesy of Executive Traveller or the new outdoor area.

But will there be a secret door from the F lounge entry?

Who doesn’t love the smell of avgas in the morning!

The new entrance to the Int Business lounge is apparently going to be next to the 1st lounge entry, outside just near the escalators. News is that it may open in Dec 26.
A few pics from L8 room @ Rydges. Workers overnight (observed around 2-3am, by 6am they were gone) maybe unloading materials/supplies.

Definitely makes more sense to have a common entrance and utilise the space at the base of the First escalator.

I was pondering if a new entrance “next to” the First entrance might actually pass behind the green wall? Although, is that the current kitchen space? I’ve not set foot in J Lounge for over 15 years (a nice problem to have).

I assumed QF would be taking over the walkway that is open over the terminal which you walk along to access the J lounge.

To make use of that, the entrance would need to move near the escalators, but not necessarily be a common entry.

Perhaps that's all in my head though.

Seems sensible but haven't noticed any construction.
Possibly needed for emergency exit from the far end of the J lounge, or whatever (offices) are above customs / immi

Snapped this one this morning. Looks like a decent size outdoor space that will no doubt be popular - particularly before QF1. Looks like floor to ceiling windows, which from memory the old J lounge did not have.

First time visiting the temporary J lounge. Very comparable to the old lounge, decent size with no dramas getting a seat during the morning rush, and great close ups of planes.

Upon the completion the renovation, do you think they’ll keep the current temporary lounge and make it into a Qantas club? Similar to how they run on the domestic side?
First lounge - first customers, chairman’s lounge and emerald
Business - business customers Qantas and oneworld flights, sapphire on Qantas operated flights.
Qantas club - Qantas club members, sapphire on one world operated flights.

As above, probably not but it’s not unheard of for airlines to have more than one J lounge at their major hubs. So potentially a second J / QP closer to those gates - but probably unlikely.

It was the old lounge back in the day and Qantas didn’t keep it then, became Amex IIRC
