As per the title these flights will be suspended and passengers will have to fly via Adelaide or Darwin. It is said to be due to low passenger numbers.

Alice Springs and Uluru seem to attract a lot of international tourists, and these numbers are still quite low compared to the past. Doesn't seem surprising that this might be an issue, along with other tourism routes such as CNS to ASP/AYQ .

Perhaps - but maybe its just following the elimination of direct HBA-PER, HBA-ADL routes and some HBA-SYD flights.

...
No matter which airline the route needs *passengers*
The flights were only on Sat/Sun.
And certainly one of the routes were economy awards were worth the points.
Alas, son and family are no longer in Alice.....
Now requires much much further wandering

Maybe if they did a PER-AYQ-ASP flight to combine demand for both AYQ and ASP, on a E190 then the route would be viable?

I flew the route last year, so it'll be disappointing to see it go

On this day as QF promates their inaugural direct Rome Flight ex PER, it’s worthy to honour this weekend is the last operations of ASP direct flights ex Perth so thought I share this picture of a Perth bound 737 on a Sunday flight last November. Was a great Point Redemption for a family of 4 after travelling the Ghan ex Darwin & didn’t want to cross SA border at the time. Great aspect of this route & QF’s IT system was being able to select exit row for no fee.

For as long as I remember, the PER - ASP route was always originally serviced with daily 717’s before several years of 737 weekend services only so disappointing that a direct flight to the Red Centre is now coming to a complete end.
