Qantas starts international wifi

Flew Syd-Scl yesterday on Qf....whilst 13 hours of no connectivity to outside world was not an issue for me,
Will be interesting to see how much coverage this route (and SYD-JNB) actually has with ViaSat given how south the routes can be.

And by the end of the year I think all 787s, 332s and 333s will have the hump.. the 380 is the possible outlier.

787 VH-ZNE now in HKG presumably getting fitted, so 2/13 currently active 787s have Internet (ZNJ ZNK)

Certainly wasn't the case Oct last year. Equipment swaps. Old planes old fitout. No starlink
Qatar Airways has installed Starlink on over 100 of its wide-body aircraft. They started with their Boeing 777s and A350s, and both of these fleets are now fully equipped with Starlink connectivity. They’re currently rolling it out on their Boeing 787s as well.
Guessing you ended up on a 787?
And probably why I haven't had a widebody without it, as I haven't been on one of their 787's (although I will in a couple of weeks, so that'll be interesting).

Same experience in September on 2 A350s and 2 787s.
Yeah 787's are definitely in the early stages of the rollout, so no surprise there. Not sure why you wouldn't haven't it on an A350 other than a system restart required or faulty Starlink equipment.

Or airline PR gilding the lily. I'm shocked such a thing could occur.

A close family member did have it on their flights, but only free if you're a QR frequent flyer, or sign up in flight.

On Monday, no internet for most of the way across the Tasman. Worked well the previous Thursday, with wifi pretty much the entire flight

ZNE back from HKG. Replaced by ZNG.

Given only 2wks putting it on hump watch for now.
Have u got a check on which 330-200 is still missing? And i imagine the -300 are only halfway done right?

As per Fri post.
Thinks its 5/10 333s - QPF G H I J
(Excluding the AY aircraft both wet and dry (QPK L) which have a bump but afaik the wrong antenna).
(QPJ currently also on a slow world tour)

On 332s believe it's still EBP and EBQ missing with 14/16 complete.. i'm guessing at this point that they might get bump/ internet at the same time as the Economy seat refurb (believe this should be almost complete on EBS)

And 787s possibly now at 3 /13 (ZNE* J K) with ZNG in maint
* ZNE to be confirmed by report or photo/video.

And A380s still MIA.

The four ex-SQ 737s (XZQ R S T) will also need it fitted, albeit still not confirmed how or when they will enter service (also need paint and new seats)

Edited a few times to cover all types
