Qantas slashes profit forecast as demand falls

QANTAS warned today its full-year profit would fall 65 per cent and it would cut capacity by 4 per cent as demand weakens.

The airline slashed its pre-tax forecast to $500 million and said it would introduce an accelerated leave program as it grapples with a fall in international passenger demand.

I am sure we will all be affected by the global economic crisis in one way or another. Qantas has had most things go their way for a while now so if they can achieve a $500 million profit they have done well.
