I'm looking to book SIN-SYD on QF on Dec 15 and because of the timing of my inbound flight, I would need to book a flight in the evening. QF 84 seems to be consistently scheduled Su/W/F/ in the coming months but in December QF 2 and QF 82 appear to be the only flights available. Does anyone know if this is a permanent schedule change or if QF 84 is likely to be scheduled down the line?

QF83/84 was an additional flight for the peak xmas/new year season added after the PER-JNB flight was removed from consideration. It hasn't yet been announced if it will just be a short term seasonal flight over summer or will continue all year.

Flights are generally added to schedules around 330 days out. For 15 Dec 19, you'll need to wait another 2 or so weeks.

Thanks for the info. Very helpful!
