Looking around tonight and this options pop up, it let me get all the way to the payment page with no error.

This wouldnt meet MCT under any circumstance? Unless someone can check if anything has changed on expertflyer?

Might take this place to vent again on the HBA to JNB via SYD connection.

Still the D-I is 90mins and they have the morning HBA-SYD arriving at 0805, which means you cant book SYD-JNB on the same day (QF63 departs at 0930).

Surely this is inefficient for their planning in terms of selling connecting tickets?

Its not like 1000s of people are doing this route, but by retiming the HBA-SYD by just 5 mins would allow this itinerary to be sold and offer an attractive connection to passengers.

Instead it offers a two stop via Perth as most efficient, which is undesirable, so family will spend the night in Sydney instead.

Surely a planning failure to maximise connections/revenue?

similar issue affects same day travel (ASP)-ADL-MEL-LST, with timings of QF690 into MEL & QF2069 ex MEL missing MCT by 5 min on the date in Dec I need to travel, following the suspension of the direct MEL <-> ASP service. Emailed the SA regional manager for QF FWIWW, who to his credit said he’d pass the feedback onto the network team to review.

Just because something meets MCT doesn't mean it is sensible. As QF1508 arrives to Terminal 3 - that meets MCT - which is 60mins. Is that sensible? I wouldn't want to be doing it, but as stated above, it is protected. Question is, when are the next flights if you miss connect?

Note that QF-QF DI at SYD is 90 minutes, but the connection to MH has no exceptions, so is only 60 minutes MCT.
