Hi there,

Although LAN is part of the One World Alliance when i try to search for reward flights from Bogota, Columbia, or Lima to anywhere (specifically LA or Santiago) no results are returned.

Anybody know how to search for Qantas reward flights on LAN?

Cheers.

You will need to call Qantas to book as intra-South America flights don't seem to appear on the Qantas website.

I recently booked a Lima-Cusco flight with LAN using Qantas points. The cost was 10,000 points + $14.80 in taxes (LAN does not have a fuel surcharge). To find availability, I did a dummy award booking on the British Airways website, then called Qantas Frequent Flyer to book what I found. There was no phone booking charge as I was unable to complete the booking online.

It's a bit of extra work, but otherwise painless. :)

I'd like to check out a flight to Christmas Island sometime but haven't gotten around to calling up yet...

Very few LAN redemptions are ever available. You need to call to find this out. We ended up just paying for intra STH American fares. Even got Easter Island return for $550 in J from SCL, but that was only because I rang a travel agent friend who found some obscure deal.

You can search for LATAM award space on their own website https://www.latam.com/en_au/ - you will need to sign up for their program though.

If a flight is showing up for the lowest amount of LATAM Pass KMs then it should be visible to Qantas.

I did this for a recent trip and found award space between SCL and LIM before calling Qantas to book it.

I was actually looking at this last night on the QF website. I found I could get SCL-LIM-SCL, but not able to do LIM-SCL-LIM, which is what I wanted. Even though the availability was obviously there. It just wasn't a possible search option.

I assumed then, it was another (of the many) shortcomings of the QF website flight search.
