Has anyone done a transit through Bali (DPS) from Qantas to Qatar airways?

I've got a flight arriving in DPS at 22:00 scheduled. Then the following Qatar flight departing at 00:35 next day, so 1.5 hours after landing.

Would Qantas check in all the way seeing as they are both One World or would I need to pick up bags and recheck at DPS?

Is it all on the one ticket? If yes, bags should be checked through, and as Qatar should be expecting you as a connecting passenger, you should be able to use the transfer/transit security.

Award or paid tickets?

QF to oneworld will NOT transfer baggage unless one ticket is paid and one is an award. If both are paid, you’ll have to collect your bags.
Just to add to this, QF’s published policy is it will interline baggage on seperate tickets where one is an award and the other a commercial fare.

I’ve not been able to convince check-in staff to actually do it though. YMMV.

Not for all airlines (the dreaded *), and if it’s EK both revenue fares can be through checked:

When can my Customers Bags be Through Checked?
If the customers flights are all held in the same booking and are ticketed on Qantas or Qantas/Emirates and/or a oneworld airline, the baggage will be transferred between the flights and the customer will receive a boarding pass at check-in for their onward flights.

If the customers flights are all held in the same booking and the first flight is Qantas and the other flights are not Qantas, Emirates or a oneworld airline, baggage transfer onto the next flight depends on whether a specific agreement exists between Qantas and that airline. The customer will be advised by Qantas staff at check-in.

Note: In general, baggage can only be checked though within the same calendar day.

To assist you to determine if customers baggage will be interlined and boarding passes issued by Airport staff, please refer to the table below:

Will be 2 separate tickets

I'd say almost impossible with separate tickets.

Even if Qantas through checks your bags (that's a big if), the transit counter generally won't be staffed so you have to enter the country and check in with QR land side.

With separate tickets I'd recommend a minimum of 5 hours transit to allow for collecting bags, immigration and check in
