Hi, I shall be fairly close to the p.a 350k Qantas points in the near future, if I’m just a bit short, who thinks it’s a good idea to buy points which has 30% bonus now?!! Or buy wine and stuff instead?? Thoughts.
Thanks FIFO_T

The wine option is a no-brainer, even for a non-drinker. For example, buying 6000 points with a bonus of 1800 points is $245 for 7800 points. There are a couple nice cases of shiraz and cab sauv from Langhorne Creek for $222 yields 8666 points (8000 + 3*222). So $23 less and you get a case of wine thrown in, for more points! And if you're a non-drinker, find a friend to sell the wine to. Hell, even if you flogged the wine off for half price, you'd still be miles in front!

Edit: I usually receive wine points from 2 to 5 days from purchase, depending on shipping date. The points purchase option is only really valid for FF'er who needs points immediately.

Humph! I used the point top up night, as needed the points quickly. Payment went through - I can see the points on the itemised transaction list, but the total has not update. Quite disappointed... Glad it was only $168 worth... But alas, wish I'd seen this wine option now. Oh well, live and learn I guess...
