Qantas Points Club Discussion

QF loyalty really should offer something to those with LTG or LTP1 who continue to earn an equivalent or higher status each year.
It shouldn't be that hard to come up with something which doesn't really cost them much if anything.
An additional 100 SC rollover for example?
That would be consistent with the new tiered rollover model.
Being able to gift the comp QP membership would have been an easy option.

Absolutely agree in terms of PC+.
It is slightly less obvious because AFAIK LTG gives you lounge access which is actually better than QP membership, but more of a personal right which would be slightly more of a stretch to make assignable.

Commenting purely in relation to PC/PC+.

Yes, SG (let alone LTG) >> QP.

I'm currently PC+ (Aug 31 anniv date) and am on track to reach 150,000 pts in the current year by 8 December.

Does this mean that I will then retain PC until 31 Aug 2028? Does anyone really know what will happen, including Qantas?

I'd say so, I just qualified for PC (March anniversary) and it shows PC expiry of March 2028

According to the published information, anyone who gains PC or PC+ before 8 December 2026 should continue to enjoy all the privileges attached thereto until the date on which they would ordinarily have expired.
Stand by for enhancements.

Thinking of whether to keep Points Club but would need to buy most of the points.
With bonus wine?

How are you tracking so far? Buying points outright isn’t very good value but if was going to land a couple of K pts short of PC, I’d consider it. You probably should review thevSC on the Ground categories and double dip.

Three months into our new member year, both SYD+1 and I are less than 20k to go and we still have up to 20k QBR points up our sleeve. So now guaranteed another year of PC thru to 31 July 2028. Which is worthwhile, as we have some lonhghaul J CRs booked and others planned.

We knocked over the flying points pretty quickly, did well with WW EDRs, QF Hotels (triple points), AirBnBs and the Wine Cellar is overflowing…😂.

We have some upcoming QF Hotel stays, but the points will post after 8 Dec, so we can’t rely on those…

For anyone else running down the clock, QF Wine is your friend. QF Hotels take 4 wks after checkout to post, so the door’s probably closing on those. QF Shopping can take months (so that’s pretty much out), QF Marketplace Gift vouchers can be quick, as can WW EDRs (good if you have decent promos). CC monthly posts after 8 Dec won’t count - so timing is everything…
