Qantas Points Club Discussion

I guess my 2c...
  • I welcome the 25-50% roll over credits. I am one of those that have this every year so happy to this being rolled over.
  • CR SC earn is not going away is what I am reading. So that is also good.
  • Also there is no race to get to PC+ anymore; I can earn points when I want.
  • Status-on-ground; just see it as QF rewarding their partners more than anything but sure; I am happy to play this game.
  • Happy to see the Green Tier go. I never got the idea of it; I mean I get what the thought behind it is but really I think it was just a way to give revenue to QF's partners. It really was a chore for me!
  • Overall thought (again from reading and my take) is that it is moving towards people that love traveling and spending on their travel. Tbh, I am really ok with this!

Retained PC+ today for the very last time, with 5 months to spare.

I’m still a chance for renewing basic PC after my new membership year opens up in September, theoretically giving me surety of benefits through Aug 2028.

Of course, if detail comes through on a new means for SC earning on CR flights beforehand, I mightn’t bother. Time will tell…

Cheers,
Matt.

Ditto. Hit PC+ earlier this month, roll over 30 June. I have been banking Woolworths since last year.
The thing I am going to miss is the 50% increase on points gained from hotel bookings.
I wait until a 9 point sale to obtain 13.5 points per $ spend.

I wondered about that.

If you are PC+, and then meet the threshold for PC, you haven't technically renewed PC as you don't hold PC. They could argue you failed to renew your PC+ membership and thus it expires on schedule. I'm not sure it's a given they'll give you PC for another year.

For me PC+ for an extra year is worthwhile to get the 10% discount on QF wine - that 10% makes purchases for points much more viable. My year resets next week (already renewed PC+), I'll definitely get PC again - but I'm hoping to get PC+ before the show ends.

My rollover is May 31, also hoping to hammer it to renewal after that before party ends. Is there an end date yet?

We’re about 45k short each of PC+ (allowing for 20k from QBR) with 4 mths to run. Should be easy enough with CC points, a few hotels and maybe some wine.

It’ll be the first and last time for PC+ for us.

I never did get PC+. Sure 100 SC rollover is nice, but not a huge amount out of the amount needed for WP, and QC membership is useless if you already have SG or above.

I’m likely to finally get my first Points Club SC from reward flights after Points club is discontinued.

I have mainly focusing and doing revenue flights to work towards LTG and still haven’t been able to find any suitable J/F return classic rewards to LHR which is what I would really want to spend my points on.

70k short here but September, my concern is more so that monthly cc spend won't get me there before they announce the program's end date.

13k ready to transfer via woolies... Mrs excel may need a new phone this year so that will be 10-20k if we purchase on gift cards. So still quite a gap.

The 100sc will help me retain gold next membership year, hopefully in addition to the new sc on the ground categories.

There’s still time?

With the removal of the low bar, that 100 SC could be a God send for one last year!

Fortunately, we’re both quite close for the first time - mainly a shed load of QF Hotel points above the usual stuff for PC.

Yep. Hence why we’ve never pursued it before.

That’s a shame. It’s been been great while it lasted.

But we still don’t know what’s coming that might be similar.

If you’re thinking the other direction, there’s actually a few seats to the big Apple.

Otherwise, use your points to SE Asia and $ to Europe. Both can help to get life time Saphire city.

You could MS and take advantage of th 6x points on GC via Everyday Gifting at present.

You’d be giving up better ROI through % off GC, but if the SC are your priority and you use a QF earning CC you might be able to make the numbers work.

There is still time. I am less than 100k points away from PC+, but not sure if it’s worth it for me. I would also need to fly more than just enough to retain WP to actually get the rollover.

I guess I’ll need to see how flight prices settle after the current crisis and decide whether to keep up WP or drop back to SG.

What? No - it works like status does, but with no soft landings.

I’ve retained PC+ now for another year, and starting from September 2026 I effectively reset and start again, though my currently earned status is good through Aug 2027. There is a gauge tracking progress to attain either PC or PC+ every year. For the last few years I go past the PC qualification marker and then the PC+ one.

Unless they change the set-up before I can do it, then if I pass the PC marker soon after I start the new member year in September, then I should have qualified at that PC level for the next membership year (to its natural end, as QF indicated)
