To all the newly-minted Platinum One frequent flyers out there... I'm curious to hear... what's been your experience so far?

Anything different?

Free upgrades?

... or all hype?

Not true. The P1 gift has appeared in AusPost accounts as a Qantas Wine delivery the last couple of times.

Sorry I meant them appearing in Auspost but not getting a formal email saying "this is a P1 gift".

I believe the poster I quoted is getting formal dispatch emails from Qantas Wines?

To clarify, it depends on how you setup your Auspost accounts. I didn't get an email or text. It's a notification directly from Auspost (app) letting me know something is being packed from Qantas Wines.

If you did order wine the most likely that. The P1 gift usually don't get an email and it usually just shows up.
Thought that may have been the case but I also got same text and link (same number too) in July when I had not ordered anything from anywhere - hence my suspicion.
Qantas Wine will find me!

Yes, I am getting email notifications from Qantas Wine about my delivery.
I do not have an Auspost account/ App.

Hope you get more than a magazine as a P1 gift @_TheTraveller_ !

Not sure if P1 specific or not, however 'As a valued frequent flyer' I have just received a 'special collectors edition' Qantas magazine (which tbh looks the same as the other QF magazines) from Ms Wirth as she 'knows how often I travel' (so obviously need another QF magazine to read) to 'personally thank me for your continued support and loyalty this year'.
WP here, received the special collectors edition today from dear Livvy.

Same message as above.

Won’t be a voucher. They wouldn’t lodge that for shipping notification with AusPost.

Oh I had meant a voucher for you not me. I'm optimistically guessing that some HV pax like yourself would get something more valuable than some wine.

It will be the same gift for everyone. In the past some Gov (? I think) got something different from booze.

Sounds like P1s may be getting more than just an exclusive magazine, after all
Got mine the other day with a personally addressed letter to dear member sic!!

Bit of an update;

Sent through a fairly unemotional email to the VIP team outlining what experiences I’ve had of late.

Got a call a few days later and a very engaged and probing series of questions asked and my feedback felt appreciated. (Not sure it would do anything) but none the less I felt heard.

Then got an email with a single CL invite for my next flight.

I’ve never been in the BNE CL, so was very welcome. The lounge was great, lovely food and drinks, great furnishings and was super pleasant.

The flight BNE to MEL had great service from a wonderful CSM who went out of her way with kindness.

Sadly the J seat was broken (busted no recline) not a big deal so didn’t mention it until I disembarked.

So to sum up, the bright side of QF is very bright. The dull side, very dull.

Did a MEL/SIN/BNE on SQ the days before which was lovely, although what the hell is up with the folding down Bed nonsense on the a350s?

@Kiwi_Flyer - is this the first P1 gift you've had in the eastern states? Or am I remembering incorrectly and they had found room in the budget to also grant kiwi P1's a christmas tipple in the past?

Either way it's great to receive the gift! :)
