Has anyone contacted the SST about status retention in relation to COVID-19 (realize there is a general thread on this). Only looking for SST / P1 experience.
I haven’t approached them.

Hmmm - I don't think I've had more than a couple of revenue bookings 2 months in advance of travel for the past three years. If cancelled bookings were to be the sole criteria used it would be ridiculous.IIRC I saw a comment somewhere that the SST said they would review on a case by case basis and people would need to provide details of cancelled bookings (ie: PNRS) as proof of intent to travel....

I believe QF will continue their very hard line on P1 qualification.
I could see more DSC. Frankly I think QF would do well to basically give DSC to everyone for flights between say now and 30June. I mean forget registering and all that. if you flew it you get the DSC. Or if not DSC, +50%. I mean at a time when they'll be hurting it may be one way to effectively lower the qualification level but still induce some spend. which is what they need.

Given I’ve been on a company imposed travel ban since mid Feb and my membership year restarts in April that counts me out.
On an unrelated note I received my first P1 invite to the cricket this weekend in SYD. Unfortunately I can’t go which is a bummer!
Richard - that which you suggested might happen did so this morning, with my wife (WP) offered a 50% DSC option bookable 11-17MAR20 for travel 11MAR-09JUL20. Registration was required.I believe QF will continue their very hard line on P1 qualification.

How close are you to 3600?
If your normal travel would have continued in Feb/Mar/Apr that would have gotten you over the line, I think it would be appropriate to contact the SST in April and express this and ask if there's anything they might do - ie review your history of travel etc.
I mean if you, for example, averaged say 300-400 SC earn/month for 9 months, then dropped to near zero, I think it could be reasonable to assume you'd have gotten there easily. I could see if you were sitting at say 3200 or something it might be common sense to do something for you. Really hard to know. I imagine IF they did reviews they'd take into account your company's rship with QF, your $$$ value to them (the "PCV" I guess as discussed previously here) and such.
For me? I'm over half way through my year and not even 1400 SC earned on that basis I wouldn't ask or expect anything.
I think there should be some common sense shown, but in the past QF have held a hard line so I guess time will tell what they do.
Does it really cost Qantas to have current level for another year?
You cannot suggest things like this on this forum there may be an uprising. The amount of times I have read how important SG are I started to wonder if they were at top of the status totem pole........I would argue it would cost QF more to extend a person on SG for an additional year as that keeps them with lounge access......
