QANTAS has really been put into a tough position now. I hope both sides can work something out ASAP!!
Qantas pilots join engineers in call for first strike since 1966 | The Australian
QANTAS pilots say they agonised for weeks before applying today to take their first industrial action since 1966, as they move toward a disruptive showdown with management. The Australian and International Pilots Association officials applied to Fair Work Australia this morning for permission to ballot members on action tipped to include a work-to-rule campaign and stop work meetings of up to two days.
"It is with sadness that we have reached this point today," AIPA president Barry jackson said.
"We do so now because we are concerned not only for the future of Qantas pilots, but for the future of Qantas itself."
Qantas said it was extremely disappointed the unions were taking actions that would significantly disrupt its customers.
