Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

$27.00 for ADL -> MEL, 737 wasn't too full.
Great to have no one next to me, whY, wasn't sure if my $27 offer was successful or not, no confirmation email after they took the $27.
Worth it.

Is NFS still a thing? There was some mention over in the QF Y+ forum that NFS wasn’t being offered to a WP in Y+ seats. Although the QF website still exits, it’s not offering NFS on my next flights and I’ve not received an email to request since last year., including 4x Dom whY flights since Y+ come in.

Any more regular domestic flyers seeing offers?

I personally have never taken a NFS offer - nor likely to but curious if they have been quietly pulled?

Also curious, since NFS is different to extra legroom. 🤷‍♂️
Sorry, on smartphone.
From front of seat to seat in front, no difference.
Just NFS is that no one next to you, still a gamble tho, as you have to check and see regularly how much Y fares are, and if any Y seats left on your flight.
Cabin bags above head was full ish as lots of pax brought on mini hard sided bags.
For double SC earn tho, maybe phoning up for comfort seat booking is better.
If SC earn is important, do a comfort seat booking, esp if over to and from PER to east coast.

That does seem like a genius move from Qantas if the plane is flying with lots of empty seats, getting people to pay for the empty seat!
Yes, but… as I posted earlier, friend of mine took advantage of it on a flight to Hong Kong. There were only a handful of empty seats, and the $100 charge for a neighbour free was well worth it they said. They had a perfect flight.

If the flight is fairly empty and every 2nd or 3rd pax is going to get a spare seat anyway… maybe not such good value.

But of course that’s the gamble!

This of course presumes your neighbour isn't worth talking to!

I honestly was never one to talk to my neighbour but have had some interesting chats the past year, and am becoming more open to a bit of conversation.

They might be the most fascinating seatmate, but if they’re 6 foot - from side to side - I’d rather sit in silence 🤣
