Qantas Moves Capacity to Europe July 2026

I wonder if QF will continue to expand its Europe network out of Singapore, with the new crew base opening up. Frankfurt, Athens, Berlin could all be potential additions
I think Qantas group will be more likely to expand out of Perth than Singapore into Europe. Vanessa Hudson has already mentioned Athens, and a lot of Aussies would rather go via Perth now, rather than the Middle East given everything happening

The flights from Perth to Europe and Singapore/Southeast Asia to Europe use the exact same corridor over Central Asia, the Caucasus and Turkey.

But no QF operated flights stop-over in the ME only EK and QR codeshares.

Yes, that is my entire point. People will be less likely to stop over in ME, therefore increasing demand for QF's services to Europe

That was the case before this latest war too, Qantas moved back to SIN because they saw their traffic decrease in the years they were flying via Dubai.

I think it’s a reasonable expectation there will be a shift away from the ME3 and back to the Asian/EU/UK/AU carriers.

The only question is the size of that shift, and how much the ME3 discount fares to combat it. It may result in routes staying as they were, but already we were seeing more AU and European flights.
