Qantas may float flyer program

Qantas is considering a partial float of its Frequent Flyer program this year and expects to make a decision about the future ownership structure of the business in August.

Chief executive Geoff Dixon said the Qantas board would assess options for the program at its next meeting.

Not sure that many would agree with this -

"These changes will establish the program as a world leader among loyalty programs in terms of the value it offers members and the breadth of product choices,'' Mr Hickey said.

Obviously my 'valuation' is different to Mr Hickey's 'valuation'.

Oh that's right, he's looking at it to burn millions of QF points where as I'm looking to burn minimal points for the same seat ..... silly me...

Best thing that Qantas ever did. I've just (a few minutes ago) used my points to buy a nice big Plasma TV, instead of continuing to pretend that one day I could use them to fly somewhere in comfort. :mrgreen:
