Qantas Mastercard Card Offers: how to unlink credit cards?

There shouldn't be an issue with having your old cards listed, unless there is a security risk? That being said it's rather odd there isn't an option to remove...

Qantas can access all the transaction data on any linked cards, so it's a privacy issue if you can't opt out.

I finally received a response from the QFF service centre today to say that they had unlinked my credit cards as per my request. However, it doesn't look like they have actually done so - all cards are still showing when I log into my account.

Looks like my cards are now finally unlinked.

It's crazy how difficult it was to do this. It takes less than a minute to link a credit card to your Qantas account, but I must have spent several hours over the space of the last week trying to get them unlinked. That's a serious privacy issue IMHO.

A privacy lawyer or expert could confirm but from what understand from my recent corporate days and some contract work with one of the “Big 4” is that they’re required to dispose of that legacy data. Which can be easier said than done (when you think about distributed systems, backups etc). So probably easier to hope peeps won’t be concerned about old, expired CCs.
