So for those who may have noticed the Qantas Mall has a Super Weekend promotion for the last weekend of May 2021 (29-30th) and eBay has the following promotion:

"Double Points. Plus get 500 bonus points when you spend $150 or get 750 bonus points when you spend $200"

Fortunately, there were a few items I needed to purchase and this promotion was timed perfectly. However, on my Qantas Mall shopping history I've noticed a mistake by I'm guessing eBay. I purchased two items on the morning of Saturday the 29th. However, on my Qantas Mall shopping history it specifies the transactions took place on Friday the 28th! So I'm guessing eBay Australia is going by US time when tracking cookies. This is rather frustrating as it now means I wont meet the 750 bonus points requirement nor get the double points for those two transactions. Unless of course I raise a dispute and hope for the best.

I'm guessing there will be a number of other people facing the same issue.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Yeah, I had the same issue a few years ago, bought straight after midnight when a promotion started as I'd been looking at something. Checked the trans log and just got regular points though, even though within promotion period. Fortunately I kept the purchase confirmation email which showed the correct time. They weren't adjusting time zone for daylight saving then; not sure if same cause with you (since not daylight saving here now).

Seems they still haven't fixed it!

Getting it corrected was a pain though as their default is to argue what is in the trans log, and they kept saying I bought it on e.g. Friday despite it being Saturday (then they start arguing promotion wasn't running on Friday so everything is correct).

Maybe they've marked it as a known issue and have it fixed easier now. But be prepared with your facts in case they haven't.

I would hope so. Surly they can forward track the time if the cookies are going by a US time zone which appears to be the case as my items were purchased mid morning Saturday.

I think there will be many people complaining about this, especially if they miss out on 500-750 bonus points when it's the fault of eBay. I've just sent a 'Feedback' message to Qantas Shopping explaining the situation and that they will have many unhappy customers. If the issue isn't resolved once they pickup on this then I will have to raise a complaint or points enquiry I guess.

I sent a feedback message to Qantas shopping. I don't think the help desk operator could fully grasp what I was explaining to them and told me to wait two weeks for the points to be processed. Somehow I don't think this issue will be resolved as I doubt the low level help desk gate keepers will push this up to the people who will understand the technical aspects of this and make the relevant changes.

I should eventually get the bonus points regardless as I purchased an item for a family member which was $200+ in value which was captured on that weekend instead of the Friday.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The points were credited to my account for shopping with ebay in late May. However, not the 750 bonus points. I wonder if ebay will honor their commitment or just forget...
