Should cost you 5,000 points per person only, the standard fee for an award cancellation.

And are the taxes refunded as cash, or as credit etc for a later flight? I'm tired of hearing stories of people not being able to use credit for later flights.

Never cancelled Jetstar but cancelled a Qantas reward recently and had my points back within 2 days and credit to my credit card within 4 days

Refund to the original credit card.

It's one of the most attractive aspects of QFF awards for me. Book early as a placeholder, and then cancel for 5,000 points when something better comes along, as it usually does. And then buy a case of wine if necessary to offset the loss of 5,000 points.

Hopefully it was a Classic/Partner award both ways because if one way is an award and one way a paid fare the whole ticket takes on the more restrictive fare conditions.
