Qantas International check in at Sydney domestic terminal?

Sorry if this is a very basic question.(Sorry it should be in the Qantas thread.)

We are flying from SYD to LAX on Wednesday. Originally it was a direct flight but, due to Qantas changing our flights, we are now flying through Melbourne. I am a little concerned how this is going to work.

We often fly out of Canberra and there is an international check in desk there. However, as Sydney has the international terminal, we are wondering if there is an international check in desk at the domestic terminal? As we are travelling with a ski bag, the last thing we want to do is to have to change terminals in Melbourne with all our luggage.

I have a vague recollection there is, but not sure whether they are informed sufficiently to do pre-flight covid checks before checking your bags through.

@Townsend when you checkin at SYD domestic QF should do all the necessary checks, scan passports etc issue you with both boarding passes and through check your luggage. On arrival in MEL you can either exit back to the departures level (exit is next to security) or exit to the arrivals area. Once in arrivals you just go back upstairs and walk to the international terminal, go through security and clear immigration. Unlike SYD, the international and domestic terminals are under one roof. I would just ask during check in that your luggage has been through checked.
