I am certain that someone will point me to the correct spot.....

I booked a hotel in Singapore through QH with the expectation that given the relative (though minor) premium over a straight internet booking that it would earn QF mileage......

The reply was - it is not a partner hotel - therefore nothing......
OTOH I haven't found any notations on the QH pages that you wouldn't get any credits... My logic being - WHY would I book through Qantas if I wasn't expecting miles in 'some form from them..

Now in this case it was to keep the almost 18K QF miles for my wife's account from expiring. I guess it is time to transfer the Telstra Telecard credits to her account for a few months..

If you book through Qantas Holidays you sometimes won't get QFF points even if it is a partner hotel, because "the rate does not qualify for QFF points".

They simply offer a booking service, and i like the good service and the fact they email you the tax invoice etc. Also in AU i have found i can often get better prices that other means.

But Anna has said even if it is a partner hotel you may not get points, most of the time i stay at a hotel and they offer points on QF i don't get them, not worth chasing up most of the time :(
Same with some hotel programs.

It can be difficult sometimes to get QF or the hotel to credit the FF points but I think it is always worth chasing up. Even if it is only 72 points....

I've had no problems booking through QH, which is not the case booking direct. The QF rate is not a restricted rate (cancellation is allowed) and I would think that you could lean on QF if they advertise it as earning points regardless of what the hotel itself might say.

With QH online hotel booking (Bookings - Hotels), you only earn FF points on AU & NZ hotels. As for other countries, at this stage, you don't earn FF points.

As mentioned by JohnK, if you want to earn points for hotels in countries other than AU & NZ, you have to book directly with those hotel partners listed on Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Hotels - Outside Australia. Remember to check that the rate you are booking will earn points and don't forget to show your Qantas Frequent Flyer card at check-in.
