Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Is there anyway to still add the home offset to the cart? I’m actually in TAS and the recycling & solar company aren’t available in TAS.

I've had these things in my QF Marketplace cart since QF started messing with ways and cost to attain GT (May?), and earlier this week after clocking over to my new membership year I put my plan to the test.

I couldn't get the 'Climate Positive Delivery' I'd put in the cart back then to transact, but I got away with the main one I was hoping for which was the TAS offset at the original price for that Lifestyle leaf. Also had the Charity Redemption in there, which is still available today as it was in May.

I then ordered some Four Pillars Modern Aussie gin on sale and in combination with my PC+ discount & a wine voucher that was just 3K points delivered to get the Shopping leaf. Survey leaf was already lit up, so I just needed a flight carbon offset which I applied to a DSC CR booking; and viola - GT acheived in the first 5 days of the new member year, and 50 SCs on the way soon!

This might be the last year I'll bother with it though... as I already have a free version of the recycling pick-up thing in my council area, I won't pay an extra 3c per KWh for 'green energy', and am unlikely to forego hotel status benefits by using Qantas Hotels!

Cheers,
Matt.

In the past, most of my GT activity has posted a leaf around the 48 hr mark. Last Thu, SYD+1 and I took the opportunity to purchase our one, and probably only offset on seperate bookings, paying cash and received a seperate email invoice for the offset.

But still no points (10x per $, should be a whopping 15 pts) nor leaf (points and leaf usually post at the same time).

I just noticed on the website:

^ To be recognised for the Green Tier activity, Qantas Frequent Flyer members must tick ‘Voluntary Carbon Program’ on eligible flights during the booking process or in My account. This will be recognised as a Green Tier activity seven days after purchase.

Explicitly stating 7 days now. No biggy if that’s the case but is that what peeps are seeing?

I am not sure if it took 7 days, but it was certainly at least 72 hours before my leaf posted for a recent offset

Mine in the above articles was 3 days from when I booked the flight

The "during the booking process" surprise me. I couldnt find the option in my last J domestic booking, and I searched everywhere. I got it after the booking though. Now waiting for the green leaf.

It’s at the tail end of the booking process where they ask if you want a hotel, car, insurance or fries with that order

Did you jump to “Express Checkout”? That bypasses the offset option.

The non-express checkout gives:
1. Upgrade, Hotel, Car and Insurance options, move on
2. Accept fare rules
3. PAX details / contact
Which brings you to the payment page:
1. Trip Summary
2. Points Plus Pay option
3. Seat selection

and finally “Voluntary Carbon Program” just above payment details….

and now double what it used to be on SYD-MEL!

BTW, did you use points or $ to add it after?

Either way, expect to have to chase it up if it hasn’t arrived after 7 days.
