Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Point Hacks has confirmed the quiz is officially out, in its place is a 'Give Back' task, which is a $25 donation using points to OzHarvest or UNICEF. The previous give back task is now called 'Reduce your impact', which includes points donations to the Kimberley Land Council and Great Barrier Reef Foundation. It means 2 x $25 donations through Marketplace will count for 2 of the 5 tasks required. Changes took effect on 9 March 2023. No indication of a change to rewards for achieving Green Tier.

Was a bit worried that my green leaf was automatically going to kick over before April which would have forced me to accept the status credits this membership year when I'd rather defer them to next so this works out OK for me. Even though it's an extra $25 that's still pretty good value wise and at least it's contributing to something positive.

Except it is not an extra $25 - is is an extra 3,200 points. Personally I would not spend points if I got less than 2.5c value so I would value that at minimum $80. As I use Green tier to get points anyway, it reduces my net gain from 6,800 points to 3,600 - which pretty much halves the value proposition.

Oh right it doesn't let you use cash - you gotta stump up the points. Damn. Certainly reduces the value proposition if selecting points as the reward.

Unless you time it when there‘s a general X% off sale (using points). Assuming that works?

I‘m only in it for the SCs so which ever min combo of points and pay is fine by me.

Third call did the trick for my Green Award choice to appear :) I called last week and the week before, each time they "send an email" to get it fixed. Still no reward choice this morning, so I called.

The operator told me to log out, he did something on his end, and when I logged back in the Qantas android mobile app I finally got the reward choice (immediately, while on the phone). Did he really do something, or was it just a matter of logging out / logging in? Was the previous email msg they send effective at all or not? I don't know. But for those waiting on their reward, I would try to log out and in again, just in case.

Now I am maxed out for 1st of April reset: 500SC rollover + 100SC PCP rollover + 50SC Green tier + 50SC loyalty bonus.

Yeah SC's for me, still have a way to go to LTG. Not really sure Green is worth it for the 10,000 points IMO. But i guess if you are LTG with no hope of LTP like most of us, points would be more useful. I'd probably stop caring about green tier after i reach LTG though.

Every little bit helps to tick over regular WP (Even with LTG)!

Just tried log out and log in, but no luck. Building up the strength to call again.
 
I have the sustainable quizz available on my Wellbeing app now. Confusing. It says it will "get one step closer to achieving green tier". I though the quizz got phased out?

I completed green tier this membership year already (the quiz leaf got automatically granted without having access to the quizz), and I am pretty sure I completed the quizz last year around that time, so it looks like it came back 12 months after last completion. Curious to see what happen if I complete it again, will do it 1st of April.
 
I Booked a classic award flight for a family member so the booking appears in MMB in my Qantas Account. Anyone know if I get a leaf for offsetting their booking with points, even though i’m not travelling?
 
After reading the tales of woe from members who've been waiting ages for their award selection notification (let alone having their respective award posted to their account), I'm pleasantly surprised to report that after opening my Qantas app this evening, I was presented with a pop-up notification advising I'd just achieved Green Tier and prompting me to select my award. Naturally I opted for the SCs and was even more pleasantly surprised to see that they posted almost instantaneously! One step closer to LTG! :D
 
I achieved my fifth leaf from a flight booked during the DSC promo. I haven’t seen a pop up to select a reward yet, but hopefully soon. I do have the fifth leaf now.
 
I've ticked all 5 boxes (leafs) for another year but as others have reported, the "Enjoy your benefits until..." hasn't updated to give me another year.

I'm wondering if anyone's date has updated correctly and, if so, how long did it take?

Got the wrong date too, and sure enough, I lost the green tier banner on 1st of April. I doubt this will auto-fix, and will require a call (I don't care about the banner, but who knows, there might be some specials just for green tier). I'll follow up sometime in a few weeks.
 
Still no update from Qantas by phone or on the website regarding my Green tier status (it still shows an expiry of November 31, 2023 despite me having re-qualified for Green tier back in January). Will likely follow up with them by phone later this week.
 
Decided to give the QFF Service Centre a call, they said it should be fixed in 3-5 days.

I tried calling; the agent I spoke to had no idea about how green tier worked and I had to walk her through it, including referring her to the FAQs.

After consulting with a colleague, she said it will auto-fix once my new year comes around. Yeah right! It's all becoming way to difficult.

in addition to above query... If i have a return domestic booking in Y, can i wait til i have flown the outbound before requesting carbon offset? Will the points cost reduce given the outbound has been flown and only paying for return sector to be offset? Trying to reduce points outlay as much as possible to get this leaf this membership year.

Can confirm the quiz still accrued a leaf for me this month, despite the "reduce your impact" category being 'enhanced'...
