Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Indeed, my money, my call...
Your assumption about the cost of my flight offset is incorrect, but plenty of examples in this thread of failures.
I'm sure I can spare the 15 seconds to send back the reply in my post above...
I chose carbon offset at the time of booking a future flight the green leaf was on my profile a day or two later. Problems seem to occur with the newly implemented retrospective paying for carbon onset.

Well actually, I ALSO did carbon offset at the time of booking. But no green tick.
I booked during the DSC promo and did carbon offset. and I had to cancel the flight 10 days later, at least that's when the credit voucher came in.

So yeah, lotsa people got the green tick straight away on a new booking. I didn't.
As usual Qantas consistently inconsistent.*

Already mentioned this in thread...

* and this is why I'm banging on about doing the same thing and expecting something different...

No - that's what you would pay if you booked another flight.
No, because the flights I need to take have a carbon offset that is greater than $1. That's why i paid more than $1 in the first place. Seriously dude. IT'S MY MONEY, not yours...

For what its worth, I got one green leaf last year, one green leaf this year, and one this year for Ms ChrisMars, each time a few days after the booking (carbon paid at time of booking) for 3 flights I cancelled afterwards. 3$.

Interestingly, the fact that I have purchased carbon offset those time prompted me to offset a SYD-LHR J award on DSC to celebrate. I think it was 50$. I dont think I would have offset if Qantas didnt train me in the first place.

Wondering if thats tax deductable?

I book through CWT so I also can't offset at the time of the booking. First flight taken 6 days ago and no green tick yet. I've also offset another upcoming flight and nothing.

Well threw some good points after the bad money, as per advice in thread for my flight last week. Six days later NO green tick...
What was that I said about throwing good money after bad?
Fool me once...
Shame on me now.

Am I allowed to chase Qantas, without the snide comments now? @Mr H ???

I called QFF yesterday to follow up what the final tick (carbon offset) which I should have got in April. The call was answered within two minutes and the lady was very friendly and effective. Said it will be sorted in 3-4 business days. Fingers crossed.

You can do what you like. I am sure you will begrudge me that dollar for ever. I don't know why you are having such difficulty with this green status thing. Generally in life, though, people who are less angry seem to be happier.

Angry??? I'm just reporting back on what happened when I followed your advice. As it turns out your advice was bad advice. Surely people need to be informed about poor advice.

Am I angry for wanting a promised "service" to be provided?
You made a snide comment, suddenly that's my fault. Now you're continuing to insult me?
Maybe reflect on why you got so angry about me chasing my "dollar". Or why you begrudge how I use my time. Please don't project your feelings onto me.

Thanks for your helpful contribution...

Well this is bizarre. I just earned Green Tier and selected my reward - 50 status credits.

The "Green Tier Reward" of 50 status credits now appears on my QFF activity statement, but the SCs haven't actually been added to my account yet. In other words, my annual and lifetime status credits balances have not changed. Is this normal?

Edit: Never mind, it just took an hour or so for the status credits to be added. All good!

Apologies if this has been discussed previously, but I qualified for green tier last year (membership year ends 30 June). My QFF Green Tier page currently says 'Green Tier achieved, enjoy your benefits until 30 June 2023'. But then above this, it says 'Start engaging in sustainable activities today to achieve Green tier this Membership Year'. So my question is, have I achieved green tier this year or can I go through the motions to secure another 50 SC?

It sounds like you can start a new round of activities for another 50 SC but we are anticipating if the Green Tier Quiz will show up again. Otherwise it would mean booking some sustainable hotel.

This is the response I got about why I didn't get the green leaf on the carbon offset:
In regards to carbon offset with booking reference number xx_xx_, as further investigation of our relevant team, they saw that the booking is under the Qantas Business Rewards account, hence, it is not eligible to earn green tier activity. Please be advised that only flights that booked on a Qantas frequent Flyer account will be eligible to earn green tier.

All I did was enter the company's ABN when I booked the flight. Has anyone seen it written anywhere that it's ineligible?

This is all it says on the green tier page:
^ In order to be recognised for the Green tier activity, Qantas Frequent Flyer members must tick ‘Fly Carbon Neutral’ on eligible flights during the booking process or in My Account. Carbon offset will be recognised as a Green tier activity seven days after purchase.

I looked through as many articles that I could find, and saw no mention of Business Rewards either way. All information just referred to Frequent Flyers. I always put my ABN on flights, so that does put them in the Business realm. However, the carbon offset I paid with a Classic Reward flight, so had not attached the ABN.

Nevertheless, it makes sense that this is a "personal" tier. If the "business" (per ABN) paid for the offset, then the offset belongs to the business, not the person on the flight. After all, a business cannot record steps or swimming!

I agree it makes sense but friend @Vic is not even able to get the tick from an award booking.

Finally ticked over today. Not sure whether it was because I pushed back on the QBR nonsense or because I booked a separate awards ticket and offset that (though I suspect the former). Now to wait until my next year ticks over to claim my status credits.
