Qantas Golf membership & golf beginners

Does anyone know if the Qantas Golf club has any events or suggestions for complete beginners? It looks like it's aimed at seasoned golf players.

The emails I receive don't suggest it's for beginners, but for those experienced enough who want to network while playing it.

I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to join if you're a beginner, perhaps just head to a local club and get some lessons on the driving range.
