There is no specific phone number, the system recognizes you are gold once you input your membership number and pin. From there, you will be fast tracked in the gold queue, which means that as a valued customer, maybe you wont have to wait more than 3h. Maybe. Descent service starts at WP, and skyrock at P1.

How long since you qualified? I would guess you wont get your tag for a few weeks.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The long wait times are for the reservations line. The QFF line (who are best placed to deal with bag tag requests) is usually answered almost instantly, although always by Manila.

@OP you don't need to order the tag, QFF will automatically send it out. Just to manage your expectations there is nothing personalised about it except the colour..

Thanks boys - it's been couple of days I have been upgraded to Gold but we are travelling onerseas in 2 weeks time I am confused with excess luggage allowance with Emirates on Qantas website it says 16KG extra - When I called Qantas I was told Qantas agrrement is no longer with Emirates - I called again was told I will get 16kg but my wife won't get it even though she is travelling with me I am bit confused I don't want to be in a situation where I end up paying for luggage at airport
Any suggestions would be appreciated cheers

What does the Qantas mobile app says in term of baggage allowance? I think it displays the correct amounts those days, at least for me and my partner for an upcoming EK flight. Make sure your qff number is correctly entered, you should see your gold status in the booking in the app.
If you are the only one gold, only you will get the extra allowance.

Well, the gold coasters (bag tags) will arrive with your membership kit and card at some point, but it won't be in two weeks (sorry). I'm pretty sure QF are still issuing them. Anyway EK won't eally care about that anyway it's what is in your account.

According to the baggage calculator a Gold should have 46kg total allowance noting:

Emirates operated flights between and within Europe, The Middle East, North Africa, Asia, New Zealand and Australia when booked with either a QF or EK flight number on your ticket.

you can put your booking reference in specifically for specific allowances.

Not sure if this comment is related to your original post, but in case it is, the tags are only for domestic travel. Your printed bag tags will have the relevant priority and your extra allowance will be determined by your frequent flyer number being on the booking.

The tags are really not necessary at all for any travel, they can be slightly faster if you want to self check your bag ona domestic flight, it might save you 15 seconds from applying the printed tag. But again, useless for international travel.
