Hello.

Long time lurker, second time poster!

2 questions:

1) I got a return flight Melb - Stockholm in Dec 22 / Jan 23. There is a $1k difference per person between SAS airline and British Airways on the return leg (Stockholm to London). We are serial over packers, and conscious that we should book with BA on the return leg to ensure our OneWorld extra baggage is honoured as a Qantas Gold. However, given the cost, would there be any risk if we went with SAS and them not honouring the extra baggage when we check in Stockhold Arlanda on the return flight home. The remaining flights London to Melb are Qantas. Am I at risk that SAS in Stockholm will charge me for the extra baggage (i.e. skis) given that they are not OneWorld partners. Can't seem to find any info online.

2) I am still waiting for the birth certificate for my newborn daughter so that I can organise her Aussie passport. From the Qantas website, understand that I can still book the flight and add passport details later. Keen to book now to take advantage of double status credit promotion. Am i overlooking any critical info?

Thank you in advance! And apologise if i have overlooked the above from previous searches.

Cheers
Ron

1) you will not get your status bonus baggage on the SAS flights - will just be the normal same as per the LON - AU segment. For $1000 difference I am sure it would be cheaper just to pay for that extra baggage!

2) yes can update passport info later
