Qantas frequent flyer with Japan Trans Ocean flight

Hi there,

I am flying with Japan Trans Ocean from Okinawa next week.

Looks like they are part of Japan Airline which is part of OneWorld as Qantas.

The flight airline code is JTA559 and Qantas website says only JL, NU flights are eligible.

But looking up NU airline code and they are IATA designated for Japan Trans Ocean.

So just wonder can I earn Qantas points with this flight?

JTA website - clearly shows the oneworld symbol on it, despite not being listed anywhere on the oneworld page..

JTA = ICAO Code (Qantas = QFA)
NU = IATA Code (Qantas = QF)


It's all the same thing - Consider it a NU flight for earning criteria,

In Japan, they like to use the ICAO code for domestic flights. You'll also see JAL and ANA flights listed as "JALxx_" and "ANAxx_" rather than JL and NH respectively.

I think it's worth noting that the QFF earn on JAL domestic flights isn't the greatest as far as I know and quite confusing to navigate, though in fairness your flight is quite short.
Based on your flight number NU559: OKA to MMY, your potential earn if crediting to QFF would look like this:

Domestic first class isn't offered on this route so not relevant in this case.
