I'm currently in the process of searching for a particular return business class flights, but it involves a transit. So A to C via B, and return. By accident I did one of my searches this morning for economy airfares instead of business. It was a pleasant surprise to see Sale business fares also returned in the search. Even better that the sale business was about $150 less that the prices I'd seen for "business saver".

But the warning comes as I then noticed the dreaded (!) next to the fare. It turns out that across all fares the A to B flight would be in economy. This is a domestic flight and there is no sale fares between those cities, but there are sale J fares between B and C.

The next bit of the warning tale is that the domestic economy leg is actually in a discount economy fare class. It would've been nice if that was at least flexible economy for the earning. Especially when searching for business fares gives business service, seat and earning for the exact same flights on both flights.

Anyway, just a heads up on the potential traps of the Qantas booking system.
