Just thinking about a trip on Saturday and wanted some advice.

Mr Artemis is off to ZQN early to ski and I have to go to Melbourne for a conference. Am I totally crazy to go to the airport with him to go to the First Lounge and spend all day there before getting on the 3pm JQ service to Melbourne?

I mean I have nothing else to do in Sydney that day and don't fancy driving him to the airport to then come back and catch a cab later...espec if all I'm going to do at home is some work (and by home I mean my parents-in-law's place! :O)

Can I even get into the First Lounge at 7am and will I bored senseless there? I'll be travelling HLO for the conference. And I've never been in there!

Likewise, I'll be able to get into the Melbourne first lounge if I fly jetstar to ZQN on Tuesday, right?

Or any other suggestions?

Many thanks in advance and apologies if this has been answered already...

I think that's what WP is for :). You may be able to swing a massage as well as all that food, and there's various shops to stroll around. OD on it while you have the chance, it's only till 2.20 and you go to the gate, read all the mags etc etc.

I don't do JQi Domestic tag flights but I don't think you can check-in and get a boarding pass that long prior to the flight so the plan probably won't work

The Tues access will be fine

You will only be able to get your BP at T-3 hours, unless you transit from another international flight where a BP is not needed.

Thanks everyone for your answers.

I was hoping to spend some time with Mr Artemis before I head for work again... drat!

Though, what would happen if I booked SYD-MEL as part of a larger multi-city booking the day prior (ie BNE-SYD-MEL)...? Would that work in terms of having my BP already issued?
Even if I flew the BNE-SYD leg the day before?

I am not sure if JQ will issue both BPs at the same time, if over two days.

And it's the BP that I need right? If HLO-ing...

I'm pretty sure I've had overnight stopovers on a multicity fare in Sydney before and had my BP issued, though admittedly that was with JAL. But if it's all part of the same ticket?

Got to the airport and JQ was checking other flights - they were more than happy to issue my BP early, but I elected to get on an earlier flight anyway...

I hope you were able to get the other JQi flight and enjoyed some time in the F lounge.
