QANTAS has been ordered to pay $US40,000 ($37,000) for engaging in "unfair and deceptive practices" by the US Department of Transportation (DOT).
The airline was found to have violated rules requiring the fair advertisement of fares late last year, according to a consent order issued by the DOT.

Qantas displayed ads on a number of websites - including its own - that omitted taxes and fees from the total ticket price, the DOT found. The airline did not include a link to a web page that provided an immediate display of the total extra costs as required by law.

Oh bugger, I was hoping they finally get pulled up for calling what is obviously an open seat (with flight attendants suddenly peaking into your personal space) a "suite" like QF does for their First class product. Not that I mind using it but still- that's deceptive advertising in my eyes!

I don't mind them peering in at all ;)

They can feast their eyes all they like.....as long as they top up the Taittinger before they leave :)
