My daughter has been living in the UK for 2 years and likely to be another year.
I have, on her behalf, received a letter from Qantas stating that her Qantas points will soon expire if nothing is done to redeem them.
What are the options for me to keep the account active?

You need to spend $31 using this method as there are no points for the first $30.
OK - buy 31 ltrs milk - problem goes away.

But I think you got my point - I am sure the family might spend $30 or more in next whenever for this method to still be the easiest solution.

Sign her up to a WWEDRC and use it to buy a ltr of milk - problem goes away imm.

You'd have to buy 10-12 litres of milk.. or spend at least $31 to go over the points starting threshold of $30 to get a point.. but yep good idea to keep the account active.

Installing the toolbar and doing a search would take less time than reading this whole thread :)

gfraser - don't listen to these other clowns - just install the Qantas Toolbar - too much milk will kill you anyway!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If you were concerned about having her physical EDR card you could order something online using her number

Simplest thing to do is to transfer them to your own QFF account if you have one. The expiry of points is according to the account they are in, not the points earn date themselves, if that makes sense?

I thought family transfers don't prevent the transferred points from expiring?

A family transfer doesn't count as activity.
However, if the account you transfer them into is active due to other transactions, then the points won't expire.

Install the Qantas Toolbar, register with her account details and then do a web search through it.

However, if a letter has been received that suggests that there is maybe 1 or 2 months before the points expire. Given the unreliability of toolbar points crediting, timing might be an issue. Toolbar is good for routine account activity rather than when up against a deadline.

The OP could also book a Qantas restaurant using daughters QFF number.

Family transfer - make sure your daughter's account has activity before transferring points back into it.
