Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

The new iMacs look very nice, but DSE wouldn't discount the macs as it's a loss to them. Usually when they advertise a computer sale they'll explicitly say, "excludes macs".

I might buy my Magic Mouse there though, if I'm going to receive points for the purchase.

That'd be JB HiFi - up until now, DSE has had 10 per cent off Macs fairly regularly (whether or not that continues is another thing).

Also very tempted by the Magic Mouse - will have to check it out in store soon.

Haven't seen any announcements about DSE coming on board on Monday yet though - hope it's still happening.

Yep have seen 12-15% off too at the DSEs in Sydney ... much better than EPP or EDU discount from Apple :D

I'm surprised that Qantas and Everyday Rewards hasn't promoted that DSE is coming online on Monday. I only found out through a targeted offer I received ($4 a pack of Mother 4 pack) last week

I hadn't heard anything at all (never received any targeted offers either - who knows?).

However, there was an ad in today's Sun-Herald announcing it to start tomorrow. Notably, it also said (though didn't distinguish) that points are only given for purchases over $50.

The question is, how do I work out if my store is a franchisee or reseller store? I don't want to ring up the purchase to find out I don't get any points.

Or is that just the usual disclaimer, such as "excludes Tasmania", when I'll never be there... :p

Just ring and ask them if they are a franchise store and/or if they offer Qantas points with the purchase...

I just want Woolies to have another double points weekend!!!

That would explain the mysterious entry posters at my local Woolworths this morning, that exhorted you to "register before Christmas" but without explaining why.

I might just pick up a new card from my local supermarket, register it, join QFF under a dodgy name, then transfer over the points as an eligible family member!

You need a minimum of 5,000 QF points to transfer between family :!:

The language on the EDR site is quite congenial regarding unlinking and happily suggests you can relink at any time. So I'll give it a go on an account that has received 0 points so far. If that works then they'll all receive the relinking treatment.

Certainly not something to be abused however, like the A|Club promo a few months back, with people registering countless fake accounts. If you were doing the whole family transfer from person 1 to 2 to 3 etc. until getting back to yourself, QFF may certainly notice if you suddenly had an influx of 100 children or cousins in the family ;)

Mmm I had fun putting all that new promo stuff around work last night. Was a bit of a surprise since they're still harping on about the groceries for a year promo.

Though there will be a fair bit of a push through ads about making sure you've linked your EDR and FF cards.

I think you will find it is per QFF account...so unless you also open up a 100 QFF accounts......

Yes, multiple accounts was my thinking. Definitely an issue for some of the generous sign up offers available in the American and European based programs where there's a lot more competition. Being able to gain a free flight or hotel night from just signing up would no doubt lead to a lot of abuse.

QF's page specifically mentions "Offer valid only once per person during the promotion period." Otherwise that would mean you could make 250 points every 5 seconds. Probably a better pay rate than _some_ people here...

You're unlikely to come across a franchised/reseller store within Brisbane. Some small regional towns have them.

If you look at the store locator and access your store, it will have "Authorised Stockist DSE " as part of their name and/or FRN referenced against the store. For Tandy, they will have "Authorised stockist" against their name.

Bundaberg is a good example for DSE, and Innisfail is a good example for Tandy.

Well this has got to suck.

I've been making various purchases with my EDR card for the last three months - probably about just over 100 QFF points worth all up, so not a lot in rewards per se. But nothing came through to my account.

It only dawned on me to check my EDR details and I realised that the card number of the EDR card I have doesn't match the one on my profile! I have the wrong card!

The card is already registered as well, so no hope of relinking it back to my QFF account.

Strangely enough, it seems to belong to a member of my family, as I tried using the "forgotten username" feature that asks for card number and last name, and it worked. Of course, it will not tell me which email address it has sent it to, so I still don't know whose it is. Worse yet, the EDR website tells me that whilst the EDR card is registered, it isn't linked to any QFF account. So a few points have just disappeared into thin air.

So much for trying. :(
