Early reports of A Qantas jet has made an emergency landing on Lord Howe Island following engine failure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Qantas do not operate jets to Lord Howe Island. Just Dash 8s.

It is now a plane rather than a Jet - wonder the plane was maintained (again)...

The wording in the article appears to have been changed to remove 'jet' and insert 'plane'. There are no jet services to Lord Howe. With a runway length of only 886 metres even the regular dash 8's can be a bit hairy at times.
