Qantas domestic economy meals

QF490 MEL-SYD today. Red wine was the Andrew Peace Shiraz Cabernet I had last time (and posted by SYD below), so went for the white, which was a Sauvignon Blanc Semillon.

SYD-MEL the other day. Fancy cheese and bickies with the addition of olives! 😁

Which were quite nice. Proactively offered another wine when they came thru to take the rubbish. Noice.

Any good, the Sauv Blanc Semillion?

QF607 BNE-MEL dep 0635 a/c 738

Smoked ham and three cheese on Turkish bread, served warm. For any curious, the three cheeses were cheddar, mozzarella and Parmesan; the sandwich also had bechamel on it. Served with a Lindt ball on the side.

Not a bad little sandwich. It's either a bit unusual to serve Lindt for breakfast or any time is chocolate time, but I'm not going to complain.

QF434 MEL-SYD dep 1000 (sched) a/c 32Q (A321XLR)

Snack consisting of a chocolate caramel crumble slice. I accepted it, but after a bit I decided to stash it for later, so can't comment on the taste. Looks like your run of the mill rich sweet slice.

QF1512 MEL to SYD
'Mexican style' Crackers and dip.
The crackers were average, the cheese tasted like bland rubber, and the 'guacamole' was a preservative-filled salty/sweet/tangy mess.

No lindt chocolate offered (#Easterisoverb#tch$s)

On-board service was friendly and efficient.
But a shoutout to Gina on the front desk of MEL Qantas club who was super frosty and mean and on-brand.

Can agree that was a rich slice

The morning food on Easter flight to Sydney was so unremarkable I didn’t take a pic We were served this slice though

Very basic, last Sat, 14.25 dep ADL > MEL, cashew nuts and raisin mix with 6 small measly thin wafer crackers, (didn't touch the dip).
And a Lemonade tincan.

On AirNz prem Y they feed you more.

You cant fairly compare an international service with a domestic one. Air NZ only sell premium Y on international, they dont even offer J on NZ domestic flights.

QF whY domestic snack flights dont offer much sustainence true, but what does Air NZ domestic offer?

Last I heard, NZ domestic Y offers you a choice if three snacks - chips, cookie and something else (choose one). Choice of drink, booze only after certain time (I think 4pm). Boiled sweets handed out at the end of the flight.

Breakfast I think might be muesli and yoghurt, or something else.

Offering may vary again for regional services.

(((They have got Koru time, which offers a tad more.)))
But on a quick dash8, not worth it, 320 maybe worth it.
Granted I only flew the evening 787 dep MEL > AKL, ... and not the smallish bird.
Can only see QFd getting tighter tho, or skimpier snack wise.
Going LCC but won't admit it.
But a cookie and a tincan would have been more filling than thin wafers and 7 cashew nuts and 7 raisins.
