Most of us have probably seen at some point the little pictures of city landmarks/landscapes next to each destination on the Qantas website's domestic/international flight offers pages. (Flights to Los Angeles, London and more from Sydney | Qantas)

For example, London has the Big Ben, Paris has the Eiffel Tower & New York has the Statue of Liberty.

Has anyone ever noticed that the picture for Frankfurt is actually of the Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria - over 400km from Frankfurt? I wonder if anyone at QF actually realises this?

In answer to your question, no, I haven't ever noticed. I can't say that I have ever paid any attention to the photographs although I have noticed their existence.

Quiet day at work? ;)

I've noticed. Meh! It is an iconic representation of Germany. What would you replace it with from Frankfurt?

Even Mumbai has a picture of what looks to be the Golden Temple in Amritsar over 1,700km's away!!

Delhi has got the Taj Mahal, although its a 5 hour drive away but fair as you can do a day trip from Delhi.

So it would seem that it isn't just Frankfurt? :p

That is a fair question - there isn't that much there. But I'm sure they could think of something which is actually in Frankfurt.. the skyline? Der Römer?

Deutsche Bank headquarters? Strewth. If you want to find some humourless Germans, try talking to the security guys there.

Ok, maybe not the Deutsche Bank HQ!

How about something like this?

I must say, when QF5 was going to FRA I always ended up in Munich. Maybe a beer would have been better.

Thanks for that, my brother did some work for them once. Good to see the place.

I don't know reminds me of any number of german cities. ;)

What's it matter if Frankfurt, Mumbai or Delhi are misrepresented, when they aren't even QF destinations in the first place?

Seems totally logical to me ...

Perhaps thats *why* they're mis-represented...

Jakarta is represented by Borobudur, some 500km away. QF often fly over it on SIN-East Coast routes, but don't land anywhere nearby. Guess it's nicer than a true image of Jakarta though:

Looks like QF have updated their image for Frankfurt. Though the image for Paris is still a photo of Las Vegas!
