Hi, looking at booking a multi-city trip involving a stop in Asia. The flights to and from Australia are operated by QF with QF flight numbers but the Europe to Asia flights are operated by Emirates with EK numbers. Cannot locate a QF number on these flights. Is that not possible unless the flights originate in Australia?

You *might* be able to get the QF codeshares on a multi-city booking with stopovers but I would expect the start and finish must be in Oz.

It also depends on what routes you’re looking at. Oz to Europe via Asia is probably possible but for example, Oz to North America via Asia is outside the QF/EK agreement.

Are there QF marketed flights from Dubai to SIN?
I booked a multi-city flight SYD-SIN-DXB-SIN-SYD, it gave me the codeshare flight for the SIN-DXB leg but not the return flight. I thought they had codeshare in both directions.

Yes - but there may not have been availability for the day you are travelling in your booking class.

Very common for codeshares to sell out even though the prime flight is wide open.

Similar question - can you book LHR>DXB on a QF ticket on it's own, or does it need to be part of a booking to/from Australia?

Even when the codeshare arrangement is a free sale one? I believe the QF/EK agreement is this type.

Yeah that’s true and I should know that - I took the very last seat on SIN/DXB a few weeks ago when QF1 cancelled and my agent was able to get it with QF codes.

Might have been a technical quirk as to why the above was booked on EK and not QF.
