Hi everyone,

First post so apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

Platinum FF here - I have been tracking the availability of 2 x business/first class seats for the past couple of months from FRA-PER or FCO-PER for October 2020 in preparation for when my target return flight date opens up (Oct 10 2020). Availability has been pretty good for the past month or so on the FRA-PER (Qatar) route with seats available on most days. I noticed late last week all of a sudden all the economy/business/first class seats from Emirates/Qatar disappeared, even for older dates. Only economy seats on Cathay are left (not that there was actually many business class seats available on CX in the first place). Has anyone had experiences in this happening before? I've seen Emirates/Qatar both recently launched Aus-EU sales for 2020 around the same time so i'm thinking maybe it is a case of whilst during the sale they remove all flight reward availability? I'm hoping after the sale ends that the reward flight seat availability will return back to normal? Anyone able to shed any light if this is the case? I called the platinum hotline and they weren't too around the availability drivers and they said that for partner airlines they chop and change as they like so keep checking daily.

Thanks :)

Sorry that I can't add much value other than to say I have also noticed an extremely low availability from May - Sep 2020 for Emirates premium cabins from Aus to DXB. I've only started looking in earnest in the last few days to look for trending availability. Anyone else noticed this?

Of course May - Sep 2020 encompasses both the northern summer peak season and also the Dubai World Expo is on next year, so these are probably both factors in limiting premium award space.

Try a multi city search
FCO - DOH - PER or FRA - DOH - PER

Failing that, there appears to be more availability DOH - SIN than there is DOH - AUS(PER/MEL/SYD/BNE/ADE) ... you could always fly to SIN (or KUL for that matter) and make your own way home from there
