Snooping at the the flight managers ipad on boarding last night i saw VIP passenger numbers it listed in descending order CIP, CL, P1, P etc onboard. I was with my boss who is CL but was interested in what would you have to do to be considered CIP by Qantas? does anyone have any idea?

I used to be a TA simply need to enter a reference to CIP into your PNR.

I would get it when the corp TA booked my flights.

I understand that CIP stood for "Commercially Important Passenger".
Yep thats my ubdertanding also.

I once had it on a boarding pass when i travelled internationally as a 12yr old...which should be a reflection of how "important" it actually is.

As @serfty points out, it can be entered by any travel agent, unless thats changed.

CIP still just gets added in by a TA, nothing special at all. There is actually no list to print off from the check-in system either, so no idea why it populates in the onboard app.
