Just received my P1 Christmas Card from Alan Joyce with a nice ‘ Rare millesime 2002 Champagne Piper Heidsieck’. A very kind gift and appreciated on top of all the great service and safe travels they have provided over the many air miles traveled.

Any other gifts given to P1’s or do we all get the same champagne?

As per DC3 - see the other thread - we P1's discuss this Christmas gift heaps each year

In regard to "other gifts", I think there are none. When I gained P1 I got a fancy leather iPad case or whatever as a joining gift - did you get similar? But the yearly thing is the bottle of champas in December - apart from that you may or may not get invites to some functions and events.... None of us understand the rationale or deciding influences behind those other things.

I really like the champas as it is a sort of an "out of the blue" thing that makes my wife smile once a year despite the travel and away time I have to do to be P1

And as your first post, I will be extremely kind as being P1 you must have flown a gazzillion miles and know that flying can be over-rated and not just fun.

Welcome to AFF! We are a fun community. There are heaps of P1's onboard here, and others who also travel a hell of a lot. They range from absolute aviation enthusiasts to people like me who have become jaded, but still love the forum even if we don't love flying anymore

Thanks for the kind welcome and introduction to AFF. Just found this wonderful group and can’t believe it has escaped my attention . My posts will be intermittent, although hope to share any knowledge I may have acquired from 20 years of travel across any carrier that is going in the direction I need to go at the time I want to be there.
Currently Solitaire/ PSS with Singapore Airlines, Platinum with Virgin and P1 with Qantas. Travelling across all airlines at this level has given me insights to all airlines apples to apples, and compare them independently and without one biased brand loyalty.
Yes, I did get the welcome gift when I attained P1 and just recently Test Tickets for two. Otherwise the occasional upgrade and special welcomes on boarding and seating. Even a personally signed welcome card signed by all staff on certain flights (Syd to Beijing).
