Qantas chiefs chat - who gets the tab? - article in The Age.

I actually agree with the comments in The Age, how exactly is this news? Some bloke meets up with former boss for beers...
Even at $10 a beer, it's not exactly out of the price range for the average punter. If it was for a meal costing $30,000 then that would be a different story.

I can't believe this article is in the business section of The Age. It reads like an article from New Idea.

yep, my immediate thought was - who cares?

Me!

I suspect that Mr Dixon and Mr Joyce were plotting to attack domestic electrical equipment in the QP at MEL.*

*In case the QF lawyers are reading this drivel the OP in no way suspects two respectable business men would indeed be plotting to cause a fridge fire in the domestic Qantas Club at Melbourne airport. This post was rather a crude attempt to extract humour from a) the fire at the Qantas Domestic Lounge at MEL and b) the meeting of two esteemed business men and former colleagues at a Sydney Hotel, where they consumed beers that cost as much as $10 each. The OP would also like to make it known that he once consumed a coughtail at a bar in Shanghai that cost almost $12 and is very disappointed not to read about this in The Age.

Would be more interesting if it were Joyce and Buchanan having lunch - AJ then pays (and BB gets the QFF restaurant bonus points!) in line with the cross-subsidisation that is occuring between QF and JQ.

Looks like the recent reno's at PH are pulling the big guns in - I'll need to get down there & check them out;)

Is Dixon still a 'consultant' for QF? He was when he departed, but l'm not sure for how long. In any case, who cares really....

Life imitating art?

For some reason I read the title as "Qantas Chef's Hat" and thought that perhaps their cuisine had won an award.

But no. Once again my almost non-existent faith in Australian mainstream journalism has taken a fall.
