That was the web price for > 6pm flights tonight out of Canberra on QF around 11am.
I think Virgin was mirroring them for a while, then something changed, then sub-$200 on Virgin appeared (taken).

Now yes, for a same day ticket, raping businessmen is par for the course. I tell ya, QF just lost a loyal 'noddy' always have, always will pax' and Virgin will now get a look in. And he is telling all his mates of this 'outrage'.

BTW: In CanberraLand, last Bus to Sydney is 7PM, and a one way car rental would be $300 odd.
We need UBER.

Did you check business fares? Saw some Adl-SYD business fares that were cheaper than flexible economy.

Not sure how uber would help.

The trouble is Canberra is an Island. It has no Jetstar or Tiger. And is smaller, and the car rental places close earlier.
SFA competition = Ripe for the picking - moreso than elsewhere.
If there was an alternate means for someone to give you a lift to Sydney, that would be great For one way, European based mobs like Economycarrentals are best, but only if >3 days plus out. Same day, forget it. Uber is kind of illegal for now, but give it time.

This business person has traveled heaps, seen $400 odd but 600-700 was a real shock! Oh well, it did need something like this for him to break his QF mindset. Not good for QF, in teh long run methinks.

Yep, no bargains when Parliament is in town. Lucky to see any availability really. I have had the situation where I could not change client's flex Y on the CBR-SYD leg as nothing was available.
